LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ – According to AZFamily, the MCSO Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating a fatal street racing accident that occurred at 127th Ave and Camelback Rd on Friday.
The two cars were allegedly racing when they collided around 10:30 p.m. before hitting traffic signals. Following the collision, one of the vehicles became engulfed in flames. That driver died.
Rescue crews transported the other driver to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials have not released the drivers’ names.
Emergency crews blocked off the area to process the scene. It was reopened Saturday morning.
