PHOENIX, AZ – According to FOX 10, authorities have arrested a man for a deadly collision on Loop 202 Red Mountain freeway eastbound and the North 32nd Street off-ramp Monday morning.
Vladimir Cortez Perez, 36, was driving an SUV when he went into the gore area and collided with a guardrail around 2 a.m.
First responders transported Perez’s passenger, Jessica Bell, 34, to an area hospital, where she died. Perez was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Authorities arrested Perez for manslaughter when he was released from the hospital.
Police believe Perez was impaired at the time of the collision.
