News: Authorities arrest alleged DUI driver following crash near Westcroft Place

PHOENIX, AZ – Police arrested a suspected drunk driver after he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle at 35th Ave and McDowell Rd on Dec. 25, according to CBS 5.

Kenneth Lane, 31, was driving a pickup truck north on 35th Ave when he ran a red light and rear-ended a car before crashing into a truck that was stopped at the light around 11:30 a.m.

Rescue crews transported one child from the car to an area hospital with serious injuries. The adult and two other children in the car were driven to the hospital as a precaution. The driver of the second pickup truck was not hurt in the incident.

Lane failed a field sobriety test. Officers took a blood sample, and the results are pending. Authorities arrested Lane and charged him with aggravated assault and endangerment.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the crash.
