GOODYEAR, AZ – According to CBS 5, one person died after a suspected drunk driver drove into a lake near Estrella Pkwy and Willis Rd on Friday.
Anthony Maiorana, 35, crashed into the lake around 8 p.m. Maiorana exited the vehicle before it submerged. Rescue crews transported him to an area hospital.
A dive team found the driver’s wife, Megan Maiorana, dead in the vehicle.
Authorities arrested Maiorana once he was released from the hospital. They charged him with extreme DUI and reckless manslaughter. Maiorana’s BAC was .234 when it was tested at the hospital.
