News: 89-year-old cyclist killed in crash involving white pickup truck in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – An 89-year-old cyclist was killed in a crash along North Alvernon Way, and East Mabel Street around 9 am Thursday.

KGUN 9 said a white pickup truck was driving north on Alvernon Way when it collided with the cyclist.

Tucson Police identified the cyclist as David Kenneth Morgan. The white pickup truck driver was a driver in his 50s. Police said the driver was not impaired and cooperated with investigators.

Morgan was killed at the scene. Tucson Police said his turning, which was “unsafe,” contributed to the crash.

The crash is under investigation. Charges or citations are unlikely to be given to the driver.
