News: 5 hospitalized after car-motorcycle crash in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ – Five people were sent to a hospital in critical condition after a crash involving a Ford Mustang and a motorcycle on Monday.

Fox10Phoenix said the two-vehicle collision happened around 9 p.m. in the area of Rio Salado Parkway and Scottsdale Road. The motorcyclist and Mustang were racing each other prior to the crash. Preliminary details suggest the Mustang driver failed to negotiate a curve and crashed their vehicle.

The motorcyclist briefly fled the scene, but returned a short time later.

EMS crews rushed the five Mustang occupants to the emergency room for treatment. The five occupants are now recovering from non-life-threatening injuries and have since been listed in stable condition.
