MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ – Two people were hurt, one seriously, due to a rollover big rig collision on Interstate 10 in Buckeye, reports AZ Family.
The accident happened on the westbound highway near Watson Road, shortly after 9:00 a.m., when the truck blew out a tire.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the truck driver lost control soon after the blowout, causing the vehicle’s two trailers to roll over and spill its contents onto the freeway.
The driver suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries, and while their passenger was reported hurt, the severity of their condition was not disclosed.
All westbound lanes in the area were shut down during the emergency response but were reopened to traffic by about 11:45 a.m.
No charges or citations were immediately reported.
