PEORIA, AZ – Two people were sent to the hospital following a rollover collision that happened on Saturday, on Valentine’s Day, 12News reports.
The incident began when Peoria Police spotted an impaired driver in the area of 83rd Avenue and Grand Avenue. The driver had allegedly fled from officers previously.
A pursuit was initiated, and it was discontinued when the driver crashed their car into Loop 101 and Olive Avenue. The car overturned several times and then crashed into a police officer’s vehicle.
EMS crews transported the driver, the other suspect, and the police officer to a hospital.
The police officer was transported to the emergency room out of precaution, while the two suspects received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe impairment was a contributing factor behind the crash.
