News: 2 children dead following street sweeper crash in Tolleson

TOLLESON, AZ – A crash involving a street sweeper claimed the lives of two children on I-10 WB near Arizona 101 Lp Friday, according to CBS 5.

The wreck happened around 3 a.m. when a woman operating the street sweeper drove off the flyover ramp and fell onto the westbound lanes of I-10.

Two children occupied the vehicle at the time of the accident. Emergency crews pronounced one child dead at the scene of the accident and transported the other child to an area hospital, where the child later died. The driver’s condition is unclear.

The cause of the incident is under investigation.
