COCONINO CO., AZ – Medics took three people to the hospital after an accident involving 17 vehicles along the interstate in southwest Coconino County Thursday, reports Fox 10 Phoenix.
The incident happened sometime around 1:29 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-40 near North Parks Rd.
The investigation thus far indicates that the series of crashes likely occurred after a car spun out on the interstate and struck both a guardrail and another vehicle.
Three people went to the hospital from injuries sustained in the wreck, and several other people sustained minor injuries.
Police think that wet roads may have been a factor in the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
