CHANDLER, AZ – One person was killed in a fiery tow truck collision that happened on Loop 101 South near Ray Road on Thursday, Fox10Phoenix said.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said that around 3 a.m., the driver of a tow truck crashed into an attenuator and then a barrier wall. The impact of the crash caused the truck to catch on fire.
Ambulance crews rushed the tow truck driver to a hospital, where he later died.
Authorities blocked two lanes along Ray Road and have reopened all lanes since.
