News: 1 killed, another hurt in collision caused by alleged impaired driver in Phoenix 

PHOENIX, AZ – One man was killed and another was left in serious condition after a collision believed to be caused by impairment on Saturday. 

Preliminary details show that one driver, who was allegedly impaired, had reportedly been speeding and ran a red light when they crashed into another vehicle at the intersection of 27th Avenue and Buckeye Road, AZ Family reports. 

Phoenix police and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene at 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, EMS crews rushed the two drivers to a hospital. There, one of the drivers died. 

The deceased occupant has been identified as 32-year-old Juan Pineda Ventura. 

Police said charges will be determined depending on the results of the toxicology report.
