PHOENIX, AZ – One person was injured in a fiery collision involving a big rig and a Valley Metro light rail train Sunday, ABC15 reports.
The train and truck collided around 7:15 p.m. off the I-10 and Washington Street connector. Both modes of transport caught on fire.
The truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The 20 to 25 train passengers on board were left uninjured.
Authorities shut down westbound Washington Street between 16th and 20th Street so fire crews could extinguish the flames and clean up the debris from the crash.
Phoenix police are working to determine where the collision unfolded.
