PEORIA, AZ – Officials closed Loop 303 Thursday morning in Peoria between North Lake Pleasant Parkway and I-17 after a semi-truck carrying trash overturned, reports abc15 Arizona.
Police say the incident happened around 6:17 a.m. just east of Lake Pleasant Parkway.
When the truck fell, trash and debris spilled across the freeway, creating a dangerous obstruction for commuters.
One person in the truck sustained minor injuries.
Officials closed Loop 303 for several hours following the accident to clear the scene. The freeway re-opened around 11:30 a.m.
