News: 1 hurt following 2-vehicle crash in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ – One person was hurt in a two-vehicle collision at Rural Rd and Rio Salado Pkwy on Saturday, according to AZ Family.

Leonardo Alans was driving a BMW at high speeds north on Rural Rd when he ran a red light at Rio Salado Pkwy and slammed into an eastbound Honda sedan.

Rescue crews transported a passenger from the Honda to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities arrested Alans and booked him on three counts of endangerment and three counts of aggravated assault.

It is unclear if the Honda driver was hurt in the incident.
