CHANDLER, AZ – According to AZFamily, a suspected impaired driver caused a deadly collision on I-10 NB near W Ray Rd on Sunday.
A 58-year-old woman was driving a Mercedes Benz around 3 p.m. when she failed to stop for traffic and slammed into a GMC Yukon. The collision sent the Yukon crashing into a Chevrolet sedan.
Paramedics transported the Yukon driver to an area hospital, where he died.
Witnesses say the Mercedes driver was driving erratically before the crash. Troopers believed she showed signs of impairment and arrested her.
Authorities did not book the suspect into jail. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office will decide whether or not to press charges.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
