PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZ Family, a man died following a wrong-way collision near N 33rd Ave and W Bethany Home Rd on Friday.
Rolando Osuna Rubio, 35, was driving west on Bethany Home Rd when he strayed into oncoming traffic and hit an eastbound car around 9 p.m. Rubio’s vehicle then caught on fire.
Fire and rescue crews extinguished the vehicle fire before pronouncing Rubio dead at the scene. They transported the other driver, an unidentified woman, to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident.
