PHOENIX, AZ – A man lost his life and four others were hurt when a driver ran a red light at N 75th Ave and Thomas Rd Friday, according to AZ Family.
The male driver of a car with two other passengers was heading west at high speeds on Thomas Rd when he collided with a vehicle driven by Miguel Ornelas Campos, 25, turning left onto N 75th Ave around 3 p.m.
The collision caused Campos’s engine to be launched from his car and strike a third vehicle. Flying debris from the crash hit and mildly injured a pedestrian.
Rescue crews pronounced Campos dead at the scene of the accident. They transported all three occupants of the speeding car and the pedestrian to an area hospital.
