New: Hit-and-run driver strikes, kills pedestrian near ASU West Campus

PHOENIX, AZ – A driver allegedly fled the area after colliding with a pedestrian near N 49th Ave and W Thunderbird Rd Friday, according to 12 News.

A person driving a van hit Nolan Kit Xayakoummane, 21, around noon. Luis Julio Vazquez Santana, 24, allegedly hit Xayakoummane before fleeing the area.

Rescue crews transported Xayakoummane to an area hospital, where he died.

The driver who initially hit Xayakoummane stayed at the scene.

Authorities charged Santana with leaving the scene of an accident.
