GILBERT, AZ – A woman’s life was claimed in a collision between an SUV and a pickup truck on Friday, according to Arizona Family.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m. at the intersection of Cooper Road and Merrill Avenue. The impact caused a pickup truck to overturn and trapped a woman in an SUV, requiring her to be extricated by Gilbert fire crews.
The woman was extricated, but unfortunately died from her injuries, while the pickup truck driver was uninjured.
Authorities shut down the area for several hours before reopening it.
