News: Child hospitalized following bicycle-car crash in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ – A child had to go to a hospital following a bicycle-car crash in Buckeye on Wednesday, AZ Family reports.

The child was riding their bicycle along Desert Sunset Elementary School when they were struck by a car. The incident happened around 7 a.m., and EMS crews rushed the child to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Buckeye Police confirmed the child is a student at Desert Sunset Elementary School.

Police shut down northbound Tartesso Parkway between White Tank Vista Drive and Amber Drive for the clean-up process and on-scene investigation, and reopened all lanes around 9 a.m.

The cause of the crash is being determined.
