Two-vehicle car crash kills 1, injuries 4 in Surprise

SURPRISE, AZ – A two-vehicle car collision took one man’s life and injured four Saturday in Surprise on US 60.

ABC 15 reported the crash took place around midnight on Saturday. A driver traveling in a BMW SUV was going on the wrong side of the highway near Deer Valley Road. The wrong-way driver shortly slammed into a Toyota Sequoia.

The SUV driver was going west in the eastbound lanes when the crash occurred. The driver was identified as George Weeks, 68.

Weeks was killed at the scene, and the Toyota Sequoia driver, along with three passengers, who were minors, were transported to the hospital and treated for injuries.

The crash is under investigation, and police officials have not released further information about the accident.
