News: Wrong-way crash on WB I-10 leaves 1 child dead, 5 others injured

VAIL, AZ – One juvenile was killed and five people injured in a wrong-way crash on WB I-10 near mile marker 290 late Sunday night.

Arizona Family reports a Mazda sedan was traveling east in the westbound lanes of I-10 just before Vail and struck a Toyota Camry around 11 p.m.

A child in the Mazda was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital for serious injuries.

Four occupants, including two juveniles, in the Toyota were transported to a local hospital for unknown injuries.

Local authroties report the Mazda driver is suspected of impairment. However, investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
