PHOENIX, AZ – According to Arizona Family, police have confirmed the identity of the woman who was killed in a fatal car-semi-truck crash in West Phoenix on Wednesday.
This is an update in connection with our previous reporting. Police said the woman was 54-year-old Samdeta Sehic.
The incident unfolded before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of 55th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Police believe Sehic’s driver, a 57-year-old man, made an improper U-turn before colliding with a semi-truck.
EMS crews rushed Sehic and the man to a hospital. There, Sehic died from her injuries, while the man remains in critical condition.
Police said the truck driver stayed at the scene and do not believe impairment was a contributing factor behind the crash.
