News: Woman faces 15-day prison sentence after fatal crash in Gilbert 

GILBERT, AZ – A 33-year-old woman who is responsible for a fatal crash that killed a motorcyclist in November of 2025 is now facing a 15-day jail sentence.

AZ Family said in an update that the woman, identified as Brandi Colangelo, was booked into the Maricopa County jail on Monday.

Police said Colangelo pled guilty to a single misdemeanor charge of causing serious physical injury or death by moving violation on January 22.

The collision occurred when she failed to yield to an oncoming motorcyclist in the area of Gilbert and Ray Roads while turning left. The motorcyclist, later identified as Don Porter, died from his injuries at the scene.
