News: Weekend crash kills 68-year-old woman, injures 2

PHOENIX, AZ – A Friday afternoon crash on 43rd Avenue and Baseline Road in Phoenix left two injured and one dead.

AZ Central said a 68-year-old woman was driving west on Baseline Road and turned on 43rd Avenue. The woman then collided with a car going eastbound.

The 68-year-old woman was identified as Phyllis Kimmel. Kimmel was killed at the scene, and a teenage passenger in Kimmel’s car was transported to the hospital for unspecified injuries, Phoenix police said.

The other vehicle driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police, however, have not released the victim’s identity or current condition. The crash is an ongoing investigation
