News: Valley Metro light rail without power following crash caused by wrong-way driver

PHOENIX, AZ – The Valley Metro light rail experienced some power outages after a crash caused by a wrong-way driver on Sunday, AZFamily reports. 

Phoenix police said the incident unfolded when the driver of a truck crashed into an electrical pole while driving east on westbound Washington Street. The driver fled the scene before officials arrived, while their passenger stayed behind at the crash site. 

Valley Metro workers took several hours to restore the power and all services resumed after 9 a.m. 

Police have not released a description of the suspect or confirmed the contributing factors.
