News: Truck strikes, kills man on motorized bike in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A 78-year-old man died Wednesday after a pickup truck struck him on his homemade motorized bicycle near an intersection in Phoenix, reports Arizona’s Family 3TV.

Police say the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. near the intersection of 29th Street and Broadway Road.

The investigation indicates that a black pickup truck struck the elderly cyclist as he attempted to cross the road.

Medics transported the victim to the hospital, where he later died.

Authorities do not suspect the driver of impairment. A full investigation is underway.
