SACATON, AZ – The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal two-vehicle collision that happened on AZ 87 near Gilbert Rd on September 7, according to AZ Family.
The driver of an SUV was heading south on AZ 87 when they strayed into oncoming traffic and hit a commercial truck head-on around 7 p.m.
The collision caused both vehicles to catch fire. The truck driver was able to exit their truck, but the SUV driver was not. Rescue crews pronounced the SUV driver dead at the scene.
Officials have not provided the name of the deceased.
