SURPRISE, AZ – A woman died Wednesday after a BNSF Railroad train struck her near a busy intersection in central Maricopa County, reports abc15 Arizona.
The incident happened in the afternoon near the intersection of West Grand Avenue, or the Phoenix-Wickenburg Highway, and West Deer Valley Road.
Police aren’t sure how the crash happened but say the female pedestrian died at the scene.
A full investigation of the collision is underway with law enforcement.
