News: Semi-truck jackknifes after driver gets blinded by sun glare in Maricopa

MARICOPA, AZ – A semi-truck jackknifed after its driver got blinded by the sun glare while traveling on Interstate 8 last Wednesday, Dec. 17., AZ Family reports.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the truck driver was trying to reach for his sun visor while driving. The driver went on to lose control of his truck and go off the median. The truck jackknifed across several eastbound lanes.

DPS later confirmed that the driver was traveling too fast for road conditions and cited him for speeding.

Transportation crews took over four hours to remove the jackknifed truck and clear debris leftover from the semi-truck crash.
