SOUTH PHOENIX, AZ – A red-light runner was responsible for causing a deadly fiery collision in South Phoenix on Saturday.
Fox10Phoenix said the red light runner was speeding prior to hitting another vehicle at the intersection of East Baseline Road and South Central Avenue.
The two vehicles collided and crashed into a light rail platform, which caused both vehicles to catch on fire.
Police said they suspect the red light runner was under the influence of alcohol and was hospitalized for critical injuries, while the other driver and their passenger succumbed to their injuries.
No pending charges have been reported at this time.
