News: Police investigate hit-and-run accident near Winona Park

PHOENIX, AZ – According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the Phoenix Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run collision that happened near N 43rd Ave and McDowell Rd on Oct. 8.

A Hispanic male wearing a black shirt was driving a black 2005 Infiniti FX35 south on 43rd Ave when he collided with a northbound 2005 Kia Sorento as it was turning left onto McDowell Rd around 1 a.m.

Following the collision, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Flavio Ortiz was a passenger in the Sorento and died in the crash.

Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the incident to contact Silent Witness.
