PHOENIX – According to 12 News, a driver died following a wrong-way collision near N 33rd Ave and W Bethany Home Rd on Friday.
Rolando Osuna Rubio, 35, was driving west on Bethany Home Rd when he strayed into the eastbound lanes and hit another vehicle around 9 p.m. Rubio’s car then caught on fire.
Rubio became trapped inside the burning vehicle and died at the scene.
Rescue crews transported the other driver, an unidentified woman, to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the collision.
