PHOENIX, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that happened near 7th St and E Buckeye Rd on Thursday, according to AZ Family.
A driver struck Leandro Cortez, 20, as Cortez walked along 7th St around 7:30 p.m. The driver then fled the scene.
Rescue crews performed life-saving measures on Cortez before pronouncing him dead at the scene.
Authorities urge anyone with information concerning the incident to contact them.
