PHOENIX, AZ – The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a fatal head-on collision that happened at 35th Ave and W Greenway Rd on Wednesday, according to 12 News.
A male driver failed to yield the right of way and turned in front of a car occupied by Shokriya Raies, 78, and a woman in her 40s.
Rescue crews transported the male driver and both women to an area hospital, where Raies died. The woman in her 40s was admitted in critical condition and the man was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities do not think impairment was a factor in the collision.
