News: Pickup truck driver dies from Loop 202 fiery collision in Mesa

MESA, AZ – A driver of a F150 pickup truck suffered fatal injuries as a result of a fiery collision that happened on Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway Wednesday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety told Fox10Phoenix that the pickup truck driver had crashed into the right side of the barrier bridge, which is what ultimately caused the fiery collision.

Officials shut down the freeway’s westbound lanes, along Broadway Road, for many hours, and have lifted all closures since. The eastbound lanes continued to stay open.

Troopers are actively working to determine what caused the driver to lose control of his truck.

New information, which includes the victim’s identity, will be provided after our team learns more.
