News: Passenger dies after driver crashes into tree in Maricopa

MARICOPA, AZ – According to CBS 5, a passenger died following a single-vehicle collision near N Taft Ave and W McDavid Rd on Sunday.

A person was heading west on W McDavid Rd at excessive speeds when they failed to make a left turn and slammed into a tree around 2:30 p.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the passenger dead at the scene and transported the driver to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The incident is under investigation by the Maricopa Police Department with assistance from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office’s Vehicular Crime Unit.
