News: Officer hits, injures child with police vehicle near Central City South

PHOENIX, AZ – An officer struck and hurt a child with their police vehicle near S 11th Avenue and W Pima St Wednesday, according to 12 News.

The officer hit the child around 6 p.m.

Following the collision, the officer began to render aid to the child.

Rescue crews transported the child to an area hospital in critical condition.

The vehicle crimes unit of the Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident. Authorities do not believe speed was a factor in the crash.
