News: Motorcyclist dies following street race near Casa Blanca

PHOENIX, AZ – A female motorcyclist died in an alleged street race on I-17 SB near Camelback Rd on Sunday, according to AZFamily.

Rylee Garcia, 22, was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle while racing the drivers of a Dodge Charger and a Chevrolet Corvette around 9:20 p.m. when she lost control of the bike and crashed into a concrete median. The Dodge Charger hit Garcia after she fell off the motorcycle.

Rescue crews pronounced Garcia dead at the scene.

Crews shut down all southbound lanes of I-17 to process the scene. The area was reopened around 5 a.m. Monday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
