News: Man sentenced for fatal DUI crash that killed father and son in San Tan Valley

SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ – A man was sentenced Monday for a deadly DUI collision that took the lives of a father and son near N Gary Rd and Foot Hills Dr in June 2023, according to AZFamily.

Dan Shifflett, 32, was driving around 90 mph in a 35 mph zone when he slammed into a minivan turning left. The two men in the minivan died from their injuries.

A blood test showed Shifflett’s BAC was at .116. He also had THC in his system.

Shifflett was sentenced to 16 years in prison, followed by seven years of supervised probation.
