News: Man loses life in pedestrian-vehicle collision in Phoenix 

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was killed in a pedestrian-vehicle collision that happened on Interstate 17 North near Yorkshire Drive, Fox10Phoenix reports.

The incident unfolded when a driver crashed his car into the median wall. That driver exited his vehicle and was struck by another vehicle.

The man who was hit by the second vehicle died from his injuries at the scene, while the second driver sustained minor injuries.

EMS crews rushed the surviving motorist to a hospital for treatment.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety closed the northbound lanes for several hours and reopened the area around 8:30 a.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
