News: Garbage truck driver strikes, kills pedestrian near Desert Valley Estate

PHOENIX, AZ – According to CBS 5, a garbage truck driver fatally collided with a woman at N 19th Ave and W Union Hills Dr on Thursday.

The garbage truck driver was heading north on N 19th Ave and was turning right onto W Union Hills Dr when they collided with Orianna Nicole Diosdado, 21, around 3:30 p.m.

Rescue crews pronounced Diosdado dead at the scene.

Following the collision, the garbage truck driver stayed at the scene.

Officials do not believe impairment played a role in the crash.
