TEMPE, AZ – One person died in a single-vehicle collision that also shut down an intersection in southeast Tempe for several hours on Sunday afternoon.
NBC 12 reports that the collision happened shortly after noon at the intersection of Southshore Drive and McClintock Drive. Police believe that the driver suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his car. They do not believe speed or intoxication were factors.
They subsequently identified the victim as Patrick Leonard, 72.
