News: Driver strikes, kills pedestrian near Bellair

PHOENIX, AZ – A driver fatally collided with an elderly man near 43rd Ave and Bell Rd on Oct. 19, according to CBS 5.

A van driver exited a private driveway and was turning onto Bell Rd when he hit Joseph Pavlics, 86, around 1:30 p.m. Pavlics was either crossing the road or fell onto it right before the collision.

First responders pronounced Pavlics dead at the scene.

Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Authorities did not charge them.
