News: Driver fatally rear-ends another driver on US 60 near Apache Junction

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – According to AZFamily, a driver died after his vehicle was rear-ended on US 60 near Meridian Rd on Dec. 26.

Luis Daniel Pacheco was heading east on US 60 when another driver slammed into the rear of his car around 6 p.m.

The collision sent Pacheco’s vehicle rolling across the median and through a cable barrier before coming to rest in the westbound lanes. Pacheco was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

First responders transported Pacheco to an area hospital, where he died.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident. They do not know yet if impairment played a role in the crash.
