News: Driver dies following 2-vehicle crash near Homestead Terrace

PHOENIX, AZ – According to AZFamily, a driver died following a two-vehicle collision at 59th Ave and W Encanto Blvd on Saturday.

Jesus Enrique Renteria Arroyo, 19, was allegedly speeding when he ran a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Aquileo Najer, 51, around 6 a.m.

First responders performed life-saving measures on Nejara before pronouncing him dead at the scene.

Arroyo fled the scene of the crash on foot. Authorities located Arroyo. Investigators reportedly smelled marijuana and alcohol coming from Arroyo. Arroyo had broken glass in his hair.

Authorities arrested Arroyo on charges of manslaughter, DUI, and leaving the scene of an accident.
