BUCKEYE, AZ – According to AZFamily, a man was arrested and a trooper was hurt when an alleged impaired driver hit a patrol vehicle on the shoulder of Interstate 10 westbound near South Watson Road Wednesday night.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was parked on the shoulder of Interstate 10, writing a report for an earlier crash, when Andrii Mykhailivk’s white Dodge Ram 3500 slammed into the trooper’s vehicle.
The collision pushed the trooper’s vehicle 60 feet.
First responders transported the trooper to an area hospital with possible head injuries. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Authorities arrested Mykhailivk and charged him with DUI, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, and endangerment.
