News: Driver collides with fire truck near Maricopa Freeway Center

PHOENIX, AZ – According to 12 News, five people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision involving a fire truck near S 40th Street and E Broadway Road on Monday.

The driver of a delivery commercial tank collided with the fire truck around 11:30 a.m. When the crash happened, the fire truck was on its way to a medical emergency.

Crews transported the delivery truck’s driver and four firefighters to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A hazardous materials truck sealed up a gash to the gas tank of the delivery truck that was caused by the wreck.

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating the incident.
