News: Drive injured, baby dead following single-vehicle crash on N Perryville Rd in Buckeye

BUCKEYE, AZ – According to 12 News, a driver and his baby daughter died following a single-vehicle collision on N Perryville Road near Van W Buren Street on Sunday.

The 30-year-old father was driving when he strayed off the road and slammed into a pole. The impact ejected the father and his 9-month-old daughter. Neither of them were wearing restraints. No car seat was found.

Following the collision, rescue crews transported the father to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was still in critical condition on Monday morning.

The baby died in the crash.

Authorities do not believe impairment was a factor in the wreck.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
